 Suite Estiu for Solo Bass Viola da GambaCarlos Martinez Gil was born in Toledo, Spain. He teaches the history of music notation and iconography in Madrid. A viol player, his Suite Estiu ("summer" in Catalan...anagram intended!) is in five movements, each one expressing the five senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste, based on a modern interpretation of the five 17-18th century forms: prelude, allemande, sarabande, passacaglia, and gigue.
